Today was day # 1 of the course, so we went to Roxy at 12 to get to know the place a little bit better then we did yesterday and got our first lesson in bartendering by Kiwi. Everyone was kind of a bit tired from yesterday so we were a bit slow in the beginning, but then we got to do two drinks – Sex on the Beach and Tom Collins – and we became more active. Hmm, wonder why… haha. Anyhow, it was fun. We got to stand behind the bar for the first time and under supervision by Kiwi, we made our own first drinks! We learned how the different ingredients tasted on their own along with the process of mixing them together. Some tasted better than others to be honest.
When that was done we were divided into three groups and had to come up with a cocktail on our own. Creativity we like! My group (containing Sandra, Maja, Anny and myself) went for a summerish one with the aim to make it sweet but still fresh, with vanilla vodka, raspberry liquor, lime juice adn sprite to top. It turned out to be quite okay. A bit too much vanilla I think.
Later on we are going out with Kiwi and some of the others at the bar I think, have a bit of sightseeing perhaps and then go to some bars or pubs and have another night of partying here in London!
